Over
the last 15 years, Mike has participated in countless competitive events
including 5K, 10K, and 15K runs, sprint course triathlons, three marathons,
and was the captain and lead coach for a corporate Hood to Coast running
team. Other passions include cycling, swimming,
and indoor rock climbing. With such a wide variety of sports, CrossFit
has become an essential source of fitness that keeps everything else
enjoyable, without sacrificing a single activity. Mike started with
CrossFit in 2004 at CrossFit Santa Cruz, CA. There he trained with
some
of the pioneers of the organization and was properly introduced to
the unique programming offered through functional movements done at
high
intensity. For Mike, the number one motivator for wanting to become
a CrossFit Instructor is to help others become healthier and more active

Dawna Graham

Dawna
has always been active. Growing up, she played sports year round and
has always loved exercising. Dawna discovered CrossFit by accident and
has been hooked ever since. The classes kicked her butt yet she couldn’t
wait to show up for the next training session. Not only did she improve
her overall fitness level, but she also learned the proper way to fuel
her body – something she neglected all of those years training
at the globo gym. What Dawna enjoys most about CrossFit is the group
atmosphere which pushes and supports her. Dawna is eager to help others

Maggie Shuler
CF-L1, CrossFit Olympic Lifting Certified
When
Maggie found CrossFit, she was a soccer mom and teacher who believed
she was healthy but knew she wasn't fit. CrossFit has transformed her
from an exhausted mom to an athlete with energy to spare. Over the years
she tried working out using exercise videos and gym memberships never
receiving the results she desired. When she found CrossFit she was immediately
taken with the elements of teamwork and competition. Maggie loves competing
against her own best times, heaviest weights, and most reps. There is
always a level of healthy competition but never a loss of the sense
that CrossFitters are a team working together to get healthy. It is
truly addicting! Maggie is excited to be a CrossFit coach and share

Shawn Smith
CF-L1
Shawn
grew up on teams - the basketball team, the track team, the cross country
team. She’s run many 5k's and 8k's as an adult and has always
enjoyed being in good shape, but working out was never anything she
was excited about. In October of 2008, bored with solitary workouts
and machines at the gym, she was in the worst shape of her life. She'd
stopped the visits to the gym and although unhappy with her appearance,
wasn't feeling motivated to change it. Along came CrossFit. She was
addicted. The intense workouts paired with a feeling of team work and
competition brought her passion for being fit back to life. Now in the
best shape of her life, her excitement for CrossFit grows. She’s
looking forward to pairing her CrossFit skills with sound nutrition
coaching and helping other people to make significant change in their
lives. Most importantly, she’s excited to help to impact the community

Dennis Lewis
CF-L1
Dennis
found a passion for Crossfit in January 2008. His lifelong love of
sports is widespread from baseball and rowing to water sports and snowboarding.
Dennis has participated in 1/2 and full marathon races, Hood to Coast
Relay, and he rowed crew in college.
Crossfit introduced a style of exercise that would allow him to work
on functional strength, mobility, and power which is transferable to
the many athletic hobbies he has. The variability of the workouts was
especially attractive to Dennis as he gets bored easily.
Dennis has worked with several outstanding trainers in the community
who have opened his world to new ways of pushing himself physically
and mentally. He has used this to overcome poor mobility, poor eating
habits, anxiety and asthma. Dennis is eager to train the next generation
of Crossfiit athletes paying forward the results he has found.dennis@bodyandfuel.com

Arney

Ashley
found Crossfit several years
ago while in the Army and was instantly addicted. She has always been
very active and enjoyed working out. Crossfit allows her to continually
challenge herself and others. She still loves to do active things like
cycling, soccer, hiking, swimming and almost anything that involves
an obstacle course. She has found her passion for helping others realize
their potential and to accomplish difficult and challenging workouts

Mike
Hillier

Mike
discovered CrossFit in 2007 while he was deployed with a parachute
infantry regiment in Iraq. CrossFit appealed to him because it provided
him and his team with the physical variability which is required in
combat. He believes that if you focus too much on “cardio”,
you won’t have the strength to fight once you get to the objective,
and if you focus too much on “isolating your muscle groups”,
you won’t even make it there. Over the course of the seven years
which he spent in the Army, he noticed that progression in CrossFit
improved his performance in other, work-related activities: mid-distance
running, calisthenics, obstacle courses, load-bearing and even technical
skills like short-range marksmanship and grappling. He is thrilled
