Meet Our Coaches

Nick Pavlenko

Owner

Coaching people towards improvement in their physical health is and always has been Nick’s first goal. He’s committed to understanding each person’s training needs, and providing them with instruction and encouragement to achieve their goals without injury. Understanding that most people are not Olympic or professional athletes, Nick wants everybody to appreciate the gift of being in the middle – that is, being fit and well enough that you are able to do all your daily activities and have a low risk for illness, while equally not being so driven to be the best that you are risking physical injury and burnout.

In high school, Nick played varsity in three sports: basketball, soccer, and baseball. He was a personal trainer from 2001 to 2003 and in 2009, he began training at CrossFit, and has been a Coach since 2011.

Personal Motto: “Embrace your strengths and minimize your weaknesses”.

Lorilee Kopp

Head Coach

Lorilee is passionate about helping others find the very best inside themselves. You’ll often find a motivating, teaching environment in her classes. She believes that to be your absolute best in the gym you need to keep learning, push yourself past old barriers, be open to new experiences and fight the fear that accompanies growth and change. She believes that Crossfit has a unique ability to create that environment while also helping the individual master many different types of movement. She’d love to hear about your goals and how she can help you achieve them.

When not coaching, Lorilee loves hiking around the Pacific Northwest, spending time with her family and friends and woodworking or painting when she can. Fun fact: She homeschools her two teenage sons.

Matt Bellet

Coach

Matt has always been active but wasn’t always fit. As a teenager, he spent more time playing Dungeons & Dragons than engaging in sports. In college, Matt became a fencer, staying on as Assistant Coach after graduating. At the same time, he began training in Small Circle Jujitsu, earning a black belt in 2010. This included teaching classes for kids, teens, and adults. In 2012, he discovered CrossFit and the joys of playing with barbells, kettlebells, dumbbells, boxes, rings, etc.

Matt’s background in martial arts has given him a quick, critical eye for form that he’s put to use as a judge at numerous local competitions including the 2016 CF Games West Regional. The same background has also left him with a variety of injuries that he has had to learn to navigate and overcome.

Personal motto: “Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory.”
